WHAT’S THE BOARD BEEN UP TO?The KCG Board met on May 13 at the Kennett Library. We will continue meeting in-person in the Pine Room. Member-Owners are invited to join us June 10 at 7pm. This meeting will be hybrid, so you can also attend via Zoom (see our events calendar). Our May meeting was eventful for the vote we took on securing the potential future home of the co-op. The Board voted unanimously to pursue engaging an attorney for the Letter of Intent (LOI) to lease 7,000 square feet on the first floor of the main building at 600 S. Broad Street in Kennett Square. The letter has since been drafted and submitted for inclusion on the agenda for the June 3 meeting of Borough Council. We plan to share an update with you once Council has made a decision. We hope you are all encouraged by this announcement. Look for more information about this and opportunities to give your feedback as Member-Owners on these plans. Additionally, we voted unanimously to engage Elliot Nolter from East Spruce Design Build to be our Visioning Architect for the space. Elliott did similar work for Bethlehem Food Co-op and is experienced at taking former manufacturing space and turning it into a beautiful retail store. We are excited to work with him.
