Board of Directors

  • Edie Burkey

As a shopper at Weaver’s Way Co-op in Chestnut Hill, PA and as someone who almost moved to Brattleboro, Vermont just because they have a terrific food co-op, to say that Edie is passionate about what a food cooperative can do for a community would be an understatement. Edie joined Kennett Community Grocer to work diligently to make this place happen. Building community relationships, reaching out to others with a passion for local foods, providing an economic engine for our community members, and encouraging the sharing of our rich diversity is what Kennett Community Grocer is all about.

  • Mitch Warren (Treasurer)

At home, Mitch loves cooking healthy meals with his wife. His passions for climate activism and healthy eating led him to Kennett Community Grocer, where he was compelled by the mission. As someone who is always trying to make an impact on the world, he realized that he could start with his own community. Mitch is the former KCG Volunteer Coordinator and current Treasurer, and is happy to play a part in bringing a community-owned grocery store to Kennett Square.

Professionally, Kimm brings to the Board over 10 years of technology and cybersecurity experience, including skillsets she’s built in communications, transforming teams to be efficient, and web design. He is enthusiastic about leveraging his expertise for the benefit of the co-op and its community, and wants fellow members to understand that being a co-op member-owner goes beyond just the products – it provides an opportunity to connect with other individuals who share the co-ops values and have a common interest in promoting fresh, organic choices.
